Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing Program Expands
The Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing (DEMSN) program continues to experience exciting growth, now serving more than 100 students from diverse backgrounds.
This fall, the program welcomed its sixth cohort of 33 students, further expanding its reach. It achieved a significant milestone in August 2024: its first pinning ceremony, which celebrated the first graduating cohort. Many of these graduates received employment offers before officially completing the program, a testament to the high demand for their skills.
A new skills lab opened in the fall of 2023 to accommodate the increasing student numbers and to enhance learning. The entire School of Nursing and Health Studies utilizes this lab to meet the growing demand for hands-on training. It is also introducing cutting-edge technology—integrating virtual reality simulation into the DEMSN and Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs—preparing students for an evolving healthcare environment.
