Earn Your MDiv and MBA or MNA
The modern minister has responsibilities beyond the traditional role of pastor and teacher. Whether it’s providing organizational leadership in traditional church settings, or leading nonprofits with faith-based principles, the tools from a comprehensive education of ministry and business will empower you to engage rapidly changing church, nonprofit, and for-profit environments. A Master of Divinity (MDiv) is the foundation you need to seek ordination in the Evangelical Covenant Church or another denomination. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) and the Master of Nonprofit Administration (MNA) are two of the most respected programs for training effective leaders in for-profit and nonprofit organizations. Students who complete both have a wider range of flexibility and opportunity in the workforce alongside a solid foundation for ministry work.
Course Areas
The MDiv curriculum provides foundational knowledge in the Bible, history, theology, and ancient languages, while the MBA and MNA teach comprehensive business principles, including organizational leadership, finance, and market analysis. Integrative courses will engage issues that affect leadership in ministry, nonprofit, and for-profit contexts.
Study On Campus or Virtually
An MDiv plus an MBA or MNA can be completed in three years of full-time study and internship, although many of our students choose to complete the program over a longer period of five years. Distance students join their classmates on campus twice a year for in-person intensive classes and participate in fall and spring semester classes virtually.
Vocational Development
The Seminary community is one that values vocational development alongside academic preparation for your career in ministry. Identity and spiritual formation coursework, psychological testing, and supervised practical experience are all crucial elements of your development as a minister. North Park Theological Seminary is also equipped to walk alongside you as you complete your education and move into ministry and the credentialing process of the ECC.
Community Life
A true Seminary education goes far beyond the classroom. North Park Theological Seminary offers numerous opportunities, including on-campus housing, community events, and worship services, all within the world-class city of Chicago.
